This exciting class will provide students with a greater understanding of “art” with projects through imagination, collage, the elements and principles of design, and explorative drawing. Focus will be directed in the following areas:
Art Production – Utilize various media such as drawing pencils, markers, and paint to exercise design, composition, and creativity.
Art History – Understanding past artists and their styles.
Art Criticism – Learning to assess the significance of a piece of artwork. A variety of media will be explored and skills will be fine tuned by emphasizing the elements and principles of design.
Class Supplies Needed:
Each student will need to purchase: pencils, eraser, scissors, glue sticks, black Sharpie marker, ruler, and a plain wide ruled composition book to turn into an art journal for their personal use.
