The class will provide students with a greater understanding of “art” with projects through imagination, portraits, perspective, animals, and explorative drawing. We will focus on the following areas:
Art Production: Utilize various media such as drawing pencils, markers, and paint to exercise design, composition, and creativity.
Art History: Understanding past artists and their styles.
Art Criticism: Learning to assess the significance of a piece of artwork.
We will explore a variety of media and fine tune our skills by emphasizing the elements and principles of design.
Class Supplies Needed:
Each student will need to purchase: pencils (2H,HB,4B), eraser, scissors, glue sticks, sharpie markers, ruler, and watercolor paint for their personal use. Please provide a labeled art box or large ziplock bag for supplies. Siblings are welcome to share personal supplies. Supplies will be kept in the art room.Register Now »
