This fun studio art course is based on functional art creations through different media. A general art background proves helpful to this creative process. Projects will include 2D and 3D materials, possibly clay, screen printing fabrics, textiles, macrame, wood painting, recycled jewelry, and paper cutting. This class will explore functional art mediums and students will learn about the creative process through design. Sketchbooks are encouraged for journaling the creative process.
A prior 7th-12th grade art class.
Class Supplies Needed:
Each student will need to purchase: pencils, eraser, 8 1/2 x 11 inch sketchbook (or larger), and Sharpie markers for their personal use. 3D objects or materials will be listed per project and will be announced in class. Some items may be of recycled material. Students will be responsible to carry their materials with them on a weekly basis.Register Now »
