Class Description:
Middle and High School Art History: This course will investigate and explore cultures, movements, and masters throughout art history. We will study a variety of artists and movements and use our knowledge to analyze, interpret, and produce art in each style we study. Students will complete weekly sketchbook assignments in addition to projects, class critiques during instructional time. The final project at the end of the year will culminate in a student-led project about a specific artist, culture, or art movement that will be presented to the class.
Class Supplies Needed:
Each student will need to purchase: 2H, B, and 6B pencils, eraser, 8 1/2 x 11 inch sketchbook (or larger), sharpie marker, ruler, and colored pencils for their personal use. Students will be responsible to carry their materials with them on a weekly basis.
