Class Description:
The cost is $250.00 per semester plus a $35.00 lab fee.
Biology will be an in-depth introduction to the major concepts in the study of living organisms. Topics introduced will include the scientific method, the five-kingdom classification scheme, microscopy, biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, evolution and Creationism, and ecosystems. Students will explore these topics through study, lecture, and laboratory participation.
Students will complete a wide variety of assignments which include note-taking, reading and completion of comprehension questions, completing labs (in class and at home), model building, studying and implementing the scientific method and laboratory write-up procedures, tests, and semester exams.
