Class Description:
A fun, introductory art class designed to encourage exploration with a variety of materials, artists, and themes. We will explore the elements and principles of art by drawing objects, animals, and nature. Students will work on important skills such as scissor cutting, paint-mixing, and drawing techniques. There will be some weeks when scenes/characters from a popular children’s book will be drawn and a story will be read to go along with the artwork.
Class Supplies Needed:
Each student will need to purchase: pencils, eraser, scissors, a glue stick, Sharpie marker, ruler, and watercolor paint for their personal use. Please provide a labeled art box or large Ziplock bag for supplies. Siblings are welcome to share personal supplies. Supplies will be kept in the art room.
