Class Description:
Fun, introductory art class designed to encourage exploration with a variety of materials, artists, and themes. We will explore the elements and principles of art by drawing landscapes, animals, objects, and people. Some weeks we will draw scenes/characters from a popular children’s book and read a story to go along with our artwork.
Art Production: Utilize various media such as pencils to exercise design, composition, and creativity.
Art History: Understanding past artists and their styles/ culture.
Art Criticism: Learning to assess the significance of a piece of artwork.
Class Supplies Needed:
Each student will need to purchase: pencils, eraser, scissors, glue, sharpie marker, ruler, and watercolor paint for their personal use. Please provide a labeled art box or large ziplock bag for supplies. Siblings are welcome to share personal supplies. Supplies will be kept in the art room.
