US History lays out an exciting narrative of America’s progress from its colonial origins and revolutionary birth, through the great trial of the Civil War, and into the 20th century as the nation stepped onto the world stage. More importantly, this class will challenge students to understand both the heights and depths of America’s history. It is not a “my country, right or wrong” study, nor does it blame the United States for the world’s problems. Rather, students will be presented with an unbiased account of America’s triumphs and tragedies, its successes and failures. It will also develop students’ ability to think critically about the events in America’s past and how they apply to the numerous complex issues that face this generation.
This is a college prep course.
