Annual Talent Night
This special evening is designed for the entire family so that your children can have a performance opportunity to showcase their fine arts training. We welcome speech, drama, art, and musical contributions for this program.
Moms’ Nights
Moms’ nights will take place 2 times over the course of the year and are intended for support and information on various topics of interest.
Elementary Drama Camp
Auditions will be held in November at Burge Terrace. Drama camp will meet each afternoon from 1:00-4:30 during a week in February. The performance will be scheduled for Saturday afternoon of the designated Drama Camp week. Students must be enrolled either as a BTHE participant or academic student. Please contact Alicia Estes at aestes@burgeterrace.org if you are interested.
Academic Festival & Science Fair
This special evening is designed for the entire family so that your children can have the opportunity to showcase their academic achievements from this school year. Tables will be set up in the Family Life Center of Burge Terrace Baptist Church to display whatever project(s) you choose to highlight. Each student should be prepared to stand next to his/her display and explain it to observers. Possible topics include (but are not limited to): literature, biography, essay, history, geography, science, agriculture and/or gardening, math, computer programming, architecture, visual arts in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, etc.), textiles (sewing, tailoring, clothing design, knitting, crochet, etc.), any kind of research or well-developed hobby—the sky is the limit!
Any category of work may be displayed with the exception of music and drama performances. Those are featured at our annual Talent Night in October.
Picnic & Field Day
Because of the logistics involved, only BTHE member families may participate in this activity.
Early Literacy Intervention
Sessions ($18.00 each) are offered on Wednesdays and can be done 1:1 or in a small group setting of 2-3 students. A reading assessment will be done using the Rigby Benchmark. Students will learn to make connections, gain confidence, and increase their reading level and comprehension.
High School & Kindergarten Graduation in the Auditorium
We will celebrate the achievements of our kindergarten and high school graduates at our 29th annual home education graduation service. Please note that all graduates participating will need to attend the rehearsal with cap in hand. At least one parent from each graduate’s family must attend rehearsal as well. A cake and punch reception will follow the ceremony.
